What began as a passion project aimed at teaching people worldwide how to live happier lives has now developed into a globally-distributed publication, packed full of beautiful images and breathtaking articles from the world’s best.
What you didn’t know, perhaps, was why I started Mind Cafe in the first place.
In 2018, my fiancé was diagnosed with brain cancer out of nowhere. After eighteen of the most difficult months of my life, she passed away peacefully in the summer of 2019.
Deep in the throes of grief…
The writing industry is a difficult one to break into. With ruthless competition, minimal job opportunities and little guidance on the internet, knowing how to turn your passion into a career can seem like an impossible task.
It did for me, anyway. I started at sixteen and had no idea where to begin.
Now, I earn upwards of £1 per word, own a globally-stocked magazine and earn a full-time living as a writer. And I’m here to teach budding writers how to do precisely that.

Death is a peculiar phenomenon. Many of us accept it as a fact of life, but we never really expect it. We see it happen in movies and hear of it in the news, always occurring in other peoples’ universes, naively assuming that it’ll never happen to us or those we love. Or at least, not anytime soon.

It’s been a crazy weekend for us. We were fortunate enough to receive press tickets to visit Wilderness Festival in the UK, where we had a blast photographing and interviewing a tonne of wonderful people about what connection means to them.
There, amongst so many beautifully inspiring individuals, I realised how important community is. And that’s precisely why I created Mind Cafe’s brand new wellness collective, After Hours.
