I'm happy to offend people. AI writing is not writing. I wouldn't outsource a 5,000-word essay to a freelancer and call it my own, because it is not. The same is true when that freelancer goes by the name of Claude.

In fact, I'd go so far as to say that I hope the people publishing AI-written work don't succeed. They don't deserve to. Distribution platforms need to do more to suppress this kind of content because it is quite simply ruining the writing industry. For that, I don't blame the non-sentient chatbots. I blame their prompters.

I'm so tired of people spamming LLM-produced comments on my articles. It's infuriating. I don't believe a person publishing AI-written work deserves a modicum of success in doing so. Why should they? What did they do to earn it? Write a prompt, copy-paste the answer, and hit publish? Come on.

Not everybody can win in this game. Resources aren't infinite, and opportunities are scarce. The hardest workers should be rewarded for their efforts, not those who are too lazy to learn the skill of writing and decide to prompt their way through it instead.
