‘Unwanting’ Things is Making You Miserable
You know this already, but you ignore it.
Let me ask you something:
How many of the decisions that you make daily are decisions that you actually want to make?
This isn’t a trick question.
Genuinely, how many?
Granted, you might not have been thrilled about taking the bins out this morning. Or perhaps you’d have preferred an extra thirty minutes in bed.
There are many decisions you probably ‘don’t want’ to make.
However, that’s not really what I’m asking you.
I mean, are you actually living in accordance with what you truly want, deep inside of you?
I ask only because, recently, I realised that very rarely do I do the things I truly want to do.
But for many years, I thought I was.
See, I make around £8–12.5K monthly as a writer, working mostly for myself, and enjoying a fair amount of freedom.
The work I do isn’t that hard, either.
So I typically breeze through most of it as soon as possible, with the aim of giving myself as much time as possible to relax afterwards.
